As a Digital Instructor and the Undergraduate Program Director for the Department of Public Administration at Florida International University (FIU), Dr. Agatha S. Caraballo designs and teaches fully online courses and coordinates the Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) program. Several of her classes have received Quality Matters certification, a national peer-reviewed benchmark for online education. Dr. Caraballo’s research and service focuses on Community Development, Diversity and Inclusion, and Corporate Social Responsibility.
She currently serves as the Director of the national non-profit organization, The Council for Corporate Responsibility, and on the Board of Directors for the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA)’s South Florida Chapter, ASPA’s Section for Women in Public Administration, and the South Florida Diversity Council. Dr. Caraballo has organized numerous conferences as an event chair, including the annual Florida Corporate Responsibility Summit and the ASPA Best Practices Conference. Since 2012, she has served as an Expert Member of the United States Technical Advisory Group in Human Resource Management (TC 260) that is administered by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She is also the Faculty Advisor for the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society at FIU, a chapter of the national honor society for public affairs and administration. She earned both her PhD in Public Affairs and Bachelor of Communications degrees with honors from Florida International University. She is married with two children, and resides in Miami, Florida.
